About Me
Animals have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by pets and farm animals, I developed a deep respect and love for all creatures—big and small. From caring for playful kittens and loyal dogs to tending to horses, goats, and chickens, I’ve spent my life learning the language of animals and understanding their unique needs and personalities.
My passion for animal welfare led me to volunteer and later help run several animal rescues, where I gained hands-on experience caring for pets from all walks of life—especially those in need of extra love and patience. Through this work, I’ve developed a strong sense of compassion and a commitment to ensuring every animal feels safe, comfortable, and cared for.
To better serve the pets in my care, I’ve also taken seminars and professional courses in senior pet care, first aid, and special needs support. These experiences have given me the skills to handle a wide range of situations with confidence, from administering medication to providing gentle comfort to aging or differently-abled pets.
At my core, I believe every pet deserves kindness, consistency, and understanding. Whether I’m walking a high-energy dog, comforting a senior cat, or helping a nervous rescue adjust to new surroundings, I treat each animal as if they were my own—with patience, empathy, and love.
Before founding Whiskers & Feathers Pet Care, I spent years working as an engineer in the corporate world, where structure, deadlines, and precision ruled my days. While I valued the problem-solving and creativity the field offered, I found myself longing for something more meaningful — a life filled with purpose, compassion, and connection. Eventually, I realized that true happiness for me wasn’t found in boardrooms or blueprints, but in wagging tails, gentle purrs, and the simple joy of caring for animals. Leaving the corporate world behind allowed me to follow my heart and turn my lifelong love for animals into a fulfilling career dedicated to their comfort and well-being.
About my own pets
Animals have always been more than companions to me — they’re family, teachers, and a constant source of joy. Over the years, I’ve shared my life with some truly unforgettable souls, each one shaping the person and caregiver I am today.
Annie, Andi & Annabelle
My current trio of rescues, Annie, Andi, and Annabelle, came into my life during my years of fostering — and never left.
Annie is the calm nurturer, a gentle old soul who has a gift for sensing when someone needs comfort. She’s happiest stretched out in a sunny spot or quietly keeping an eye on everyone.
Andi, the spirited adventurer, brings endless laughter and energy to our days. She’s bold, playful, and a little mischievous — the kind of cat who turns every walk into an adventure and every toy into a treasure.
Annabelle is my sweet little shadow, once timid but now full of curiosity and affection. She’s the heart of the pack, always eager to snuggle or tilt her head as if she’s hanging on every word.
Oslo, Bandit & Penny
My three beloved companions who have since crossed the rainbow bridge — Oslo, Bandit, and Penny — continue to hold a very special place in my heart.
Oslo, my Corgi/Shepherd mix, was a stubborn but loving handful who challenged me in all the best ways. Dog-selective and fiercely loyal, he taught me patience, the power of positive training, and what unconditional love truly looks like.
Bandit, who lived an incredible 22 years, was my wise, scrappy survivor — independent yet affectionate, always finding the coziest corners to nap in and keeping a watchful eye on everyone. He had a quiet strength and a heart that refused to quit.
Penny, my gentle 14-year-old sweetheart, battled bladder cancer with remarkable grace and courage. He (yes HE!) was soft-spoken, loyal, and full of love — the kind of companion who would curl up beside you and make the world feel peaceful again.
Each of these animals — past and present — has shaped my journey as a pet lover, caregiver, and advocate. They’ve taught me patience, empathy, resilience, and the true meaning of unconditional love. Every pet I care for through Whiskers & Feathers Pet Care carries a little piece of their spirit with them.
